Train ride from Edinburgh to Glasgow. Hanging the bike was not too fun, and required taking off the panniers.

Glasgow to Ardrossan was much better, just wheeled it on.

The first campsite, Glen Rosa, just out of Brodick. A very basic campsite with no hot water facilities.

When I arrived, there was no one there. 2 German campers arrived a little later on foot.

The weather turned somewhat nasty in the evening, and rained pretty much throughout the night. It was still raining when I packet up the tent and set off in the morning.

Somewhere on the south east of the island, stopping in the freezing wind for a breather.

The Isle of Pladda. I wonder if I could buy the lighthouse and telecommute?

Had an amazing view of the sun on the top of these cliffs, and thought it would be amazing to be up there, not really considering that would be where the road would take me, up all the hills.

Another place I'd like to buy. In the middle of nowhere, I can't seem to locate it on the map.

Just after supper at the pub in Blackwaterfoot. Weather clearing nicely.

Campsite #2, at Bridgend. Hot shower!

It was suggested I ride on for a while from Bridgend to Machrie Bay for breakfast. Worth it. Had a great BLT for brekkie, and got a bit of lunch as there isn't too much happening on the west coast.

Another purchase, a boathouse. This was across from a huge place, presumably owned by one of the several Porsche drivers on the island.

The hills! I wasn't really ready for the hills.

This was in the middle of nowhere, a really odd thing to find.

Red deer just roam around unfenced in the town. The fence in the pic is to keep them out of the campground.

Campsite #3, beside another stream. I woke up in the middle of the night thinking it was pouring with rain before I remembered the stream. Was a nice surprise.

I believe that's Goatfell in the background. This pic taken after one of the biggest hills in the journey... but not on the island.
